In October, 2001, Hieroglyphics Dot Com webmaster StinkE announced he would leave the site he created 6 years prior, and pass the proverbial reign to a new webmaster.
StinkE chose Humain, a long-time Hoopla member who operated Hiero Dot Com before striking out independently, and creating a new site: DIYhiphop.
Prioritizing its online store, album reviews, articles and interviews, DIYhiphop also featured a message board. Many Hooplaite alumni followed, unofficially becoming the new home for "Hoopla."
